Last week four students from the Park Media Lab accepted two national awards at an awards ceremony in Las Vegas for the 2014 BEA (Broadcast Education Association) Annual Festival of Media Arts.
Park Media Lab director Carol Jennings also presented on "Production Companies, Entertainment and Transmedia Studios in Academic Programs: Models, Experiences, Outcomes" at the BEA annual conference held concurrently.
In the Instructional/Educational category Zach Briggs, Dan Doran, David Lillienstein, and Dan Masciari won 2nd place for "Bird Feeding Adaptations." In the Promotional (90 seconds and longer) category, the Award of Excellence in Production Quality was given to James Earl, Nathan Krauss, and Gautam Singhani for "Ithaca in Action." They produced this video for the Ithaca College 2013 Convocation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe3KR9ZELdc
The Broadcast Education Association is the professional association for professors, industry professionals, and students who are interested in teaching and research related to electronic media and multimedia enterprises.
The BEA Festival of Media Arts is an international juried creative competition open to faculty and students. For over 10 years the Festival has been "The Showcase" for over 1,100 annual entries from over 125 different institutions. Separate competitions for faculty and students cover the range from dramatic narratives, through non-fiction documentary and news to the frontiers of interactive multimedia.
