Ithaca College Natural Lands (ICNL, see map) was created in 2004 as a conservation reserve system managed and used for multiple uses by students, faculty and staff. A core team of 20+ student interns and volunteers manage the Natural Lands. The ICNL Staff collaborates widely across the campus community, involving members from several Schools and student organizations. Several IC courses use the Natural Lands as their outdoor classroom. Diverse projects in the Natural Lands range from ecological research to environmental education to senior volunteer outreach to trail building and maintenance for recreational use.

This Friday, April 25th, we will be celebrating Ithaca College Natural Lands’ 10th anniversary. To mark the milestone, ICNL student stewards are hosting a huge “party” up on top of South Hill. The event, called Chill on the Hill, will showcase many groups and activities that use IC’s Natural Lands. From 5 PM until sunset there will be live music, activities (like pet rock making and tie dying), free food, an appearance by the IC Circus, give-aways, a tree dedication ceremony, and much, much more!  Meet at the water tower behind Terrace 10.
