IC Theatre will present the classic play, “The Crucible,” by Arthur Miller. Only four performances of this production remain: 8 p.m. on 25 and 26 and 2 p.m. on April 26 and 27.

Miller wrote “The Crucible” in 1953. The story is based on the events of late 17th century Salem, Mass., when those accused of dabbling in witchcraft were tried and punished for their alleged crimes. Miller wrote the play as an allegory to the 1950’s “McCarthyism,” during which time the U.S. Congress held hearings questioning Americans accused of holding Communist views.
