Ithaca College’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi welcomes new Student Vice-Presidents!

Ithaca College’s chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi welcomes Michelle Denison (Occupational Therapy major) and Lisa Famularo (Business Administration major) as the 2014-2015 Student Vice-Presidents. Michelle and Lisa will serve on the chapter’s Executive Committee and attend meetings and events.

To be selected as a Student Vice-President, continuing student members of Phi Kappa Phi are contacted and asked to self-nominate. The following qualifications are provided to help students who are considering self-nomination.

1. Good communication skills—able to speak and write well. Student VPs will be called upon to represent Phi Kappa Phi at different events on campus.
2. Connected on campus—able to network with other organizations and departments. Student VPs will be asked to help increase visibility on campus.
3. Creative—able to think creatively and come up with new ideas. Student VPs will help the Executive Committee see ideas through a student's perspective.

Once nominations are received, each nominee is requested to submit a résumé and to address the following questions:

1. In your opinion, what could our chapter do to increase Phi Kappa Phi's visibility at  Ithaca College?
2. How could our chapter get more top students from your major interested in Phi Kappa Phi?
3. Share one idea that you could implement to inform others about Phi Kappa Phi.

Student members of Phi Kappa Phi are then asked to vote and select the two students who will serve as Student Vice-Presidents for the following academic year. This year Phi Kappa Phi members have chosen two outstanding students.
