The following students represented Ithaca College at the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders held on June 4-7, 2014 in College Park, MD: Natasha Brower ’16, Jamila Carter ’16, Ciara Lucas ’17, Amanda Morales ’17, and Natalie Reed ’16.

These students had the opportunity to learn about women’s leadership issues from a broad range of speakers, including internationally known activists, politicians, journalists, entrepreneurs, and educators. Natalie Reed represented IC at the national Elect Her workshop, and she will be coordinating the 2015 program at Ithaca College to encourage young women to run for office on campus and in the community. Michele Lenhart, director of student leadership and involvement, presented a workshop on Gender Equality and Cultural Change.

Travel to this conference was funded in part by a grant from President Emerita Peggy Ryan Williams, to promote women’s leadership development. The Ithaca College attendees were among 1000 students selected to attend the conference from colleges and universities across the United States.
