Technology-related Organization Memberships

Ithaca College is pleased to announce memberships with the following organizations and programs for the 2014/15 Academic Year: EDUCAUSE, ECAR, ELI, the New Media Consortium, and NERCOMP. Members of the college community are encouraged to take advantages of the information and resources they provide.

EDUCAUSE:

EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology. EDUCAUSE programs and resources include professional development activities; print and electronic publications, including books, and EDUCAUSE Review, their flagship magazine; advocacy; teaching and learning initiatives; data, research, and analytics; special interest communities; awards; and extensive online information services. www.educause.edu

EDUCAUSE Center for Analysis and Research (ECAR):

The ECAR program within EDUCAUSE provides research and analysis about information technology in higher education.  They publish a wealth of reports, data and benchmarking on the use of technology and technology management in higher education.  ECAR also has established working groups on a number of topics and provides access to a limited selection of additional reports from organizations such as Gartner.  www.educause.edu/ecar

EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI):

The ELI initiative within EDUCAUSE is a community of higher education institutions and organizations committed to the advancement of learning through the innovative application of technology.  ELI members benefit from a variety of professional development opportunities, a growing collection of online resources and publications, and a networked community committed to advancing learning through IT innovation.  www.educause.edu/eli

New Media Consortium (NMC):

NMC is an international community of experts in educational technology which produces the annual “Horizon Project”, a research initiative that examines emerging technologies for their potential impact on and use in teaching, learning, and creative inquiry.  The NMC annual conference will be in the Washington DC area in June 2015 and we hope to send a group from Ithaca College.   www.NMC.org

North East Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP)

NERCOMP's mission is to enhance the communication and dissemination of information related to the use of computers, networks and information technology in education, academic research and educational administration throughout the Northeastern United States. NERCOMP is an associate of EDUCAUSE.  Ithaca College administration, faculty, staff and students may attend professional development opportunities, the Annual Conference at a discounted member rate, and can participate in many topic oriented mailing lists.  www.nercomp.org
