Doing More with More: An Update on I2NY (Information Infrastructure for New York State) was the title of Karin Wikoff's presentation to the IDS Project Conference this past Friday.
Ms. Wikoff described the 6 initiatives of I2NY, each with its own Work Group:
Then she went into more detail about the Enhancing Access to Research Databases, with which she is personally involved. This Work Group has 5 more specific Task Groups:
Several of these Task Groups have already completed their work -- the Licensing Manifesto, a Model License and the Industry Analysis Report are all available from the I2NY website: http://www.ny3rs.org/i2ny/
The Article On-Demand Pilot Task Group will be sending out an RFI to 7 vendors this week, and work continues on all these initiatives and more. Ms. Wikoff is glad of the opportunity to share the work of I2NY with colleagues and encourage their participation in the initiatives "to ensure that all New Yorkers have seamless, unfettered, and affordable access to information, through the creation of a New York statewide information infrastructure which encourages collaboration and joint enterprises among the libraries and archives."
