Join James Eavenson for a discussion and demonstration of healthy management of back pain this Thurs. Sept. 4th from 12:00-1:00 pm in the Human Resources Conference Room (PRWC GL52).
The best prevention for back pain is movement. Build a strong, healthy and flexible back through Iyengar yoga exercise and guided relaxation.
As many as 90% of U.S. adults have low back pain at some time in their life and will visit a doctor for this pain. Men and women are equally affected. All of us can benefit from exercise and therapeutic yoga poses, whether we have chronic back pain or have recently had an injury to the back. Why wait until you need to see a doctor for pain or depend on daily pain medication? Healthy management of back pain will be discussed and demonstrated by James Eavenson. James is an Iyengar yoga teacher who has been teaching for 15 years. He has traveled to India to study with senior teachers under B.K.S. Iyengar. He manages his own pain through Iyengar yoga and currently teaches faculty, staff and students at Ithaca College's Fitness Center.
