Contributed by Shelli Mekos

Come and attend three workshops in two hours on Friday, October 10.

Make LinkedIn Work For You

Your online presence impacts your career success.  Learn how to make your LinkedIn profile impressive, navigate the site and effectively use this networking tool.  We’ll share tips for students which will help you build a successful profile.

Beyond the Elevator Pitch: Networking Strategies That Work
Making connections is critical for anyone who wants to find professional opportunities, however, it can seem like a daunting process. This workshop will examine the different ways that people network and discuss strategies for doing it successfully.

Being Professional While You're Eating, Greeting and Tweeting
Communicating with others - peers, faculty and staff, supervisors and colleagues at internships or jobs, or the general public - is something you do every day, so make sure you're doing it professionally. The impressions you make on people can have tremendous impacts on your ability to be successful in the working world. Come to this workshop to learn everything from e-mail and cell phone etiquette, to dining and meeting expectations, to what you should wear in various settings.

How to register: All students are encouraged to sign up on eRecruiting for this workshop in order to save a seat.  Additionally, students who wish to receive SLI credit for this workshop must register in advance on eRecruiting by 5:00 p.m., October 9.
