Farewell Reception for John W. Rawlins, III

John W. Rawlins III, Assistant Director for Multicultural Affairs in the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs (OSEMA) has accepted a position as Special Assistant to the Associate Vice Provost at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.  His last day at the College will be Friday, September 19.

Since joining Ithaca College in 2006, John has made a tremendous contribution to the development, retention, and success of students. John has served as Coordinator of the Ithaca Achievement Program (IAP), chairperson of the MLK Campus-wide Day Celebration, coordinated Cultural Theme Month Programs with various departments and student organizations, facilitated and contributed to OSEMA programs that include MLK Scholar Program, Cross-Cultural Leadership Retreat, and Jumpstart. As a dedicated professional, John contributed his knowledge, skills, and talents as adviser to five student organizations; the Festival of Black Gospel, Student to Student Mentoring, Brothers4Brothers, Amani Gospel Singers, and the African Latino Society. John’s collaborative efforts have extended to various on campus departments, to departments at Cornell University, and to many organizations in the Ithaca community. John’s enthusiasm, creativity, and team spirit will be greatly missed.  

OSEMA invites the campus community to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of John W. Rawlins III at a reception, Friday, September 19 from 4-5:30pm in Clark Lounge.
