WELCOMTSPECTRUM!!!!

Hello!  Come out to the first Spectrum general body meeting! Invite your friends! We are in the same place we're always in, at the same time we've always been--Tuesdays Williams 211 at 7:00 pm. We are going to meet, welcome newcomers and returners, do a get-to-know-humans activity, and then brainstorm what we want out of Spectrum for the rest of the semester. Spread the word and bring a friend or three! :)

I will look forward to seeing you tomorrow, on September 9, 2014 at 7pm in Williams 211.

With pride, peace, and realness,

Natalya Cowilich, President of Spectrum

Hrmmm . . . What is Spectrum again?!?
Spectrum is a student organization that stands for and includes the entire "spectrum" of sexual orientations and gender identities. Be you pansexual, bisexual, trans, fluid, asexual, lesbian, gay, questioning, straight, non-identifying, two spirited, queer, etc., we welcome you and encourage you to come to our meetings Tuesdays at 7:00pm in Williams 211, which is when Spectrum will convene weekly, free and open to any person(s). We practice a "Safe Space" policy that emphasizes acceptance and respect.During our meetings, we have group discussions that the group has brainstormed and decided to discuss, such as LGBT representation in the media, sharing stories on how to start a same sex relationship, sharing our coming-out stories, and generally bonding with one another. We also have gone out to dinner together, we watch documentaries, do "bisexual buddy" gift exchange (essentially, a queer-themed Secret Santa), have pizza parties, make rainbow crafts, and more. During the first couple meetings, the attendees of the group can brainstorm what they want out of the group. Most importantly, we are a support system for queer students and we are there for each other!
