Professor of trumpet Frank Gabriel Campos and professor of guitar Pablo Cohen appeared on American Public Media's 'Performance Today' on Thursday, September 11. They performed the Siete Canciones Espanoles (Seven Popular Songs) by Spanish composer Manuel De Falla. Campos and Cohen created the trumpet and guitar arrangement of the popular work, originally for voice and piano.
The seven short songs include Spanish dances, love songs, and one of the most beautiful lullabys ever written. The live performance originally took place in Ithaca College's Hockett Recital Hall in 2009, and this was the third time it has aired on 'Performance Today'. In his commentary during the broadcast, host Fred Child mentions Ithaca College several times.
'Performance Today' has been called "the most listened to classical music program in America" with over 1.4 million people tuning in each day. Campos and Cohen's performance may be heard until midnight on Wednesday September 17 at the 'Performance Today' website:
