Help the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes by joining us at Cass Park for the annual CRC Walkathon/5K on October 25th. The mission of the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes is to create and sustain a community of support for people living with and affected by cancer. While some organizations raise money for research, your money will go directly to individuals in the Ithaca community and surrounding area. Along with the fact that you can give back to the community, this event is a fun way to be active in Ithaca. There will be a timed 5K, zumba, a 2-mile walk, and a pancake breakfast to cap off the morning. So hit the Ithaca trails and get walking/running. There are only six weeks before the walkathon and we want to see you there! If you feel as though some extra motivation and training might be helpful for you, the Finger Lakes Running & Triathlon Company is hosting a new 6-week beginner running program starting September 15th prepare for this upcoming 5K by training two times per week up until the event. The program is free! To be a part of the group, email Lisa Holt at lisa@flrtc.com, or come on Monday the 15th. They are helping people at 6:45 pm to get set up and then run/walk.
