Ithaca College 2014 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

Notice of Availability:  procedures, practices and programming the College uses to keep students and employees safe, and facilities secure.

In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act [20 USC 1092(f)], otherwise known as the “Clery Act”, the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management is responsible for preparing, publishing and distributing an annual report by October 1 of each year, for the purpose of disclosing and disseminating certain information regarding campus crime, fire safety, campus safety and security, and emergency management.  This information is made public by way of the 2014 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.  Recent and continued amendments to this federal law add provisions dealing with specific information found in the publication, including but not limited to, emergency communications/notification systems and policies; fire safety policies and fire statistics; campus safety and security policies and crime statistics; and, campus safety and security education, prevention, and intervention programming and options (e.g., alcohol and other drugs; sexual harassment and sexual assault; confidentiality; victim’s rights; victim advocacy; on and off campus resources; policy and procedures for reporting sexual harassment and sexual assauls, and procedures for handling reports of sexual harassment and sexual assault, and other crime).

Additionally, all current students and employees will receive a direct mailing of this publication through e-mail on or before October 1.  Paper copies of the publication are also available.  Please direct your requests to the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management located in the Center for Public Safety and General Services Building or call (607) 274-3353 to request a copy.      

The crime and fire statistics for Ithaca College are submitted to the U.S. Department of Education through a web-based data collection system and can be viewed at the following web address:  http://www.ope.ed.gov/security
