The following message is being sent on behalf of Dr. Timothy Carey, Associate Vice President, Office of Facilities:
Following 28 years of dedicated service to IC, Gail Wagner, Purchasing Manager for the Office of Facilities, has announced her retirement, effective Friday, October 3rd.
When she arrived at IC in 1986, Gail served as the Assistant to the Director of Business Services. In 1988, she moved into the Purchasing Department – a role in which she truly excelled. She was a member of the Oracle Core Team that designed the original Parnassus purchasing module, and served as a trainer during its rollout. Since arriving in the Office of Facilities five years ago, Gail has assisted the department with streamlining purchasing-related business processes. She has also been instrumental in negotiating favorable pricing on numerous Facilities contracts. Gail was also responsible for setting up an on-line surplus furniture inventory and reuse system.
I find it noteworthy to also mention that while employed at IC, Gail completed her BS degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was also inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
Please join me in wishing Gail and her family (and, of course, her prized red Miata!) the very best in the next chapters of her journey.
