Image Text Practicum, June 29-July 11, 2015

Taught by Nicholas Muellner (Photography) and Catherine Taylor (Writing)

Create original projects at the intersection of writing and photography while working with internationally renowned artists.

This two-week classroom and experiential course focuses on the history and contemporary practice of image and text-based work while preparing students to participate in Ithaca College’s annual Image Text Ithaca (ITI) workshop and symposium. These events bring together internationally recognized artists, writers, publishers, and editors for a week of collaboration and presentations culminating in the publication of a new book.

Students will complete an independent or collaborative text-image project as part of the course. The Image Text Practicum aims to develop skills in writing, photography, and event planning, and to provide an opportunity for students to work with a diverse set of international artists.

Cross-listed as WRTG 31200 and CNPH 31200. Prerequisites: CNPH 24200 or any 200-level WRTG course; permission of instructor. 3 credits (Summer).

Admission to the course is by application only.
