Derek Adams, Assistant Professor of English, will deliver the morning address for the College's Martin Luther King Day celebration on Monday, January 19.  Adams' presentation is entitled "Whose Dream Is It Anyway?" and will take place from 9:00-10:00 am in Emerson Suites.

More than 50 years after the delivery of his "I Have a Dream" speech, Dr. King's words continue to shape discussions of freedom and equality in the United States.  So, too, does the idea of a post-racial society.  Adams' address will explore various intersections of these terms to begin to answer a fundamental question of our world, from which the presentation takes its title:  whose dream is it anyway?

More information about the College's program for Martin Luther King Day, which includes lectures, workshops, student presentations, and a film screening, can be found via the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs, which has created a web page for the MLK celebration here.
