I am pleased to announce that Christina McMahon has accepted the position of Case Manager in the Office of Student Affairs and Campus Life at Ithaca College. Christina comes to us from the Cayuga Medical Center where she has served as the social worker and case manager within the Inpatient Behavioral Services Unit for the past eleven years. Christina has significant experience working with young adults from each of the local colleges and universities, including Ithaca College.
The Case Manager position is responsible for managing the student of concern behavioral intervention processes for Ithaca College, including establishing systems that proactively identify and engage in early intervention with students of concern. The position provides case management and intervention for students identified as at risk due to concerns about the student’s general well-being or about specific behaviors that may be disruptive, threatening, or otherwise harmful to the student or campus community. In addition, the Case Manager will provide leadership for the Ithaca College Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) and collaborate with the BIT to identify students in need of assessment, case management, intervention, referral and follow-up. The Case Manager will also develop and implement education and outreach programs regarding students of concern and the BIT to the College community, and establish and maintain collaborative and consultative working relationships within the College.
Christina will begin her new position on January 26, 2015.
