HPPE Speaker Series 2015: "Teaching, Learning, and Diversity in the 21st Century"

The Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education presents its 2015 speaker series entitled "Teaching, Learning, and Diversity in the 21st Century." Throughout February and March, experts from health and education will come to Ithaca College to offer their opinions on pressing topics in their field.

This year's series features four speakers:

• "Engage, Educate, Empower: A Strategic Approach to Meeting the Needs of All Learners"
  Luvelle Brown, Ph.D.
  Superintendent of Ithaca City Schools
  Monday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. in Hill Center 104
• Seeing Systems Thinking"
  Derek Cabrera, Ph.D.
  Senior Research Scientist at Cabrera Research Lab
  Monday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. in Hill Center 104
• "Affirming Diversity in 21st Century Classrooms and Schools"
  Barry Derfel
  Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, TST BOCES.
  Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. in Hill Center 104
• Teaching Leadership and Success in Sustainability: The Power of Personal Will, Trust and Accountability"
  Mark C. Coleman
  President of Convergence Mitigation Management
  Tuesday, March 3 at 6 p.m. in Hill Center 104
