Ithaca College Gerontology Institute Distinguished Speaker Series welcomes Holly G. Prigerson, Ph.D. on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall for a presentation entitled, “On Being Mortal: The Human Hand in How We Die.” 

Holly G. Prigerson, Ph.D., is the Irving Sherwood Wright Professor in Geriatrics, Professor of Sociology in Medicine, and the Director of the Center for Research on End of Life Care at Weill Cornell Medical College. She will discuss research findings from the Coping with Cancer Study, a National Institute of Health funded study involving patients and caregivers in 8 outpatient cancer clinics across the United States. Her talk will highlight the factors affecting end-of-life decision making and provide suggestions on how to improve the quality of care at end-of-life.

This event is free and open to the public. Reception to follow. Presented in partnership with the Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center.
