You have a fantastic opportunity on Thursday, February 26, to show your Ithaca College pride and come together with the entire IC community to do great things for IC students. Why? Because February 26 is the first-ever IC Giving Day.
How It Works
Our goal is to secure 607 gifts -- a nod to our favorite area code -- in 24 hours from alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and other friends. If we reach that goal, a group of special alumni will give an additional $226,000 to help IC students. A matching gift of $26,000 will also be awarded to the school at IC with the highest level of participation based on its total number of alumni, parent, and student donors.
Additional opportunities to support schools will also be available throughout the day in the form of hourly competitions, which will be promoted via social media and other electronic means.
Campus Headquarters
Stop by the Giving Day headquarters in the north foyer of Campus Center on February 26 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to make your gift and get some IC swag. Institutional Advancement staff and student volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
How You Can Help
Take these three simple steps on February 26 to demonstrate your IC pride and spread the word among your friends and networks, ensuring that IC Giving Day is a success:
1. Make your own gift at icgivingday.com. If you have already made a gift this fiscal year (June 1, 2014–May 31, 2015), thank you! By making an additional gift of any size on February 26, you can take part in the school participation challenge and inspire others to give, too.
2. Send an email to your IC friends and networks and ask them to join you in making a gift on IC Giving Day. Below is a sample email message, which you may adapt as you see fit.
3. Spread the word on your own social media accounts. Facebook your own IC story, tweet why you give, or post a selfie on Instagram in your best Bomber gear using the #ICGivingDay hashtag. The sample social media messaging and graphics, available at the Giving Day website, can help you be a powerful Giving Day ambassador. Help us spread the word!
