Please join the Office of Legal Affairs in congratulating Traevena Byrd, Associate Counsel, as she has accepted a position as the General Counsel of Towson University in Towson, Maryland. Traevena’s last day at the College will be March 30, 2015.
During Traevena’s 14-year tenure at the College she has held a series of progressive positions including the Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Compliance Officer, the Assistant Legal Counsel/Equal Opportunity Compliance Officer, and finally the Associate Legal Counsel. During her time with us she has been a leader in advising on diversity recruitment and retention efforts for faculty and staff, addressing the College’s commitment to Title IX, the development of a comprehensive system for contract review and trademark issues, and managing discrimination investigations and institutional litigation. She has served on several institutional committees and has been a trusted mentor and friend to many of our students, faculty and staff. Her contributions to our campus community and the local community have been felt far and wide.
Please join us to extend best wishes to Traevena at a reception on Tuesday, March 17th from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Klingenstein Lounge of the Campus Center.
We will truly miss her presence on our campus and wish her and her family all the best as she begins this new and exciting role at Towson University.
