He has led many aspects of IC’s Sustainability Initiative that resulted in an Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) award to the college for support of sustainability in the classroom as well as for outreach on sustainability practices in the surrounding community. Professor Hamilton has travelled widely across the US to speak on how to effectively integrate sustainability into college curricula and overall facilities/institutional management.
