Jeffery Meyer, Director of Orchestras, conducts and teaches at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and conducts the Erie All-Area Orchestra in Buffalo, New York.
Meyer recently appeared with the Erie All-Area Orchestra performing works of Tchaikovsky and Brahms at the Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall on the campus of University of Buffalo. More recently, he presented masterclasses in conducting for graduate students at Jacobs School of Music and performed works of Stamitz, Beethoven and Stucky with the Jacobs School of Music Chamber Orchestra, one of the top orchestras (of five) at the school. Presently, there are nearly a dozen Ithaca College School of Music graduates pursing upper level graduate degrees in music in percussion, voice, choral conducting, cello and bassoon at Indiana. Two of those students (Michael Drennan, horn from the studio of Alex Shuhan and Pan Yan, cello from the studio of Elizabeth Simkin) are playing in Meyer’s concert.
