Let's make history together. Join us for the first ever Ithaca Pan Asian American Film Festival. This week-long event celebrates the beauty, diversity, and complexity of the Pan Asian experience. Wednesday's theme is FRESH OFF THE BOBA: A NEW GENERATION.

Join us on Wednesday, April 22, from 5-6:10 pm at Cinemapolis (120 E. Green St) as feature Asian American hip hop performances by MC JaeL and breakdancer Kelvin Kim. At The Studio (121 E. State St, basement of Center Ithaca, enter from back of building), the student group IC Breakers will host a breakdancing workshop.

Later that evening, from 6:20 - 8 pm, at Cinemapolis, we will screen the short film "American Hikikomori," about a Japanese teenager suddenly transplanted onto American soil. Our feature film is "Chinese Couplets," a new documentary by Emmy-award winner Felicia Lowe, who will join for a Q&A after the screening.

Later on, from 9 - 10:30 pm, at Cornell Cinema, we will screen two Asian American sitcoms that both take place in the 1990s, Margaret Cho's "All American Girl" and Eddie Huang's "Fresh Off the Boat." We will have a panel discussion after the screening.

This event is free and open to the public.
