Ithaca College welcomes Jason Muenzen to the position of Director of the Investment Program for the School of Business, starting June 1, 2015.
As a member of the finance and international business department faculty, the director will have primary responsibilities for the investment track. Principal duties will include marketing the program to prospective students and industry professionals; managing Trading Room activities and student investment funds; and teaching investment courses.
Mr. Muenzen has held various positions in the financial industry since graduating from Ithaca College in 2002, at some prestigious firms such as; Goldman Sachs & Co., The Linde Group and most recently, Kohlberg, Kravis, and Roberts. Mr. Muenzen also earned an MBA in 2009 from the Stern School of Business at New York University, concentrating in Quantitative Finance and Economics. He is also a member of the Investment Advisory Board for the School of Business.

Jason’s successful career with some of the nation’s most prestigious investment firms has prepared him well to teach and mentor our students preparing for careers in the investment, wealth management, and personal financial planning fields.” said Jim Simpson, Interim Dean of the School of Business.The investment track, which is a specialization within the finance concentration, has been recently elevated to strategic position within the business school. The investment students utilize the state-of-the-art Center for Trading and Analysis of Financial Instruments “Trading Room” as a laboratory to manage four funds totaling over $500,000. The Trading Room has a comprehensive set of software tools to include Bloomberg terminals, Thomson Reuters Eikon 4, Palisade’s Decision Suite, and Morningstar Direct.
The investment program also sponsors the Ithaca College Annual High School Investment Competition with over 500 participants from 10 states. Finally, the investment track, which has been endorsed by the CFA Institute, has a strong and active Investment Advisory Board (IAB) and access to a substantial network of alumni with the some of the nation’s largest investment firms.
