Michael Matheny, Clinical Associate Professor in the Dept. of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Mary Pitti, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and Andrew Getzin, M.D. recently had a manuscript approved for publication in the International Journal of Athletic Therapy & Training. The manuscript, titled "Exercise-Induced Laryngeal Obstruction: Recognition and Management for the Sports Health Care Professional," explores the misdiagnosis of EILO and how early referral to a speech language pathologist can improve symptoms and performance.
