The following was submitted on behalf of Frank Eggleston, son of longtime IC professor Gordon Eggleston, who passed away on April 21, 2015. (You can read more about Professor Eggleston at An Enduring Tribute.)
We will be having a celebration of life for my dad, Gordon Eggleston, on Thursday, July 9, 1:00 p.m., at the Brooktondale Baptist Church, located at 2311 Slaterville Road in Brooktondale, New York.
Dad began his tenure at Ithaca College in 1965, as a member of the faculty and head gymnastics coach. Throughout his 29-year career at IC he taught numerous courses within the Departments of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.
He retired as an assistant professor in 1995, and continued as a part-time instructor for two more years, teaching courses such as field archery, fly fishing, and fly tying. He also helped establish the Ithaca College Natural Lands.
We would love to invite anybody that knew my dad to come and share your experiences and memories of our loving father.
