Cheryl Rameau, Esq. Class of 1990, will be the keynote speaker at the annual ALANA ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS BANQUET on Saturday, September 19, 2015 in Emerson Suites.
Cheryl Rameau graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ithaca College in 1990 with a degree in Politics and English. She furthered her studies at SUNY Buffalo School of Law, where she graduated with Honors in 1993. She was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1993 and the New York Bar in 1994. She has since worked as an attorney in New York State, first with the New York City Law Department where she defended the City of New York in personal injury cases from 1993 to 2000. She then worked as a defense attorney in a small defense law firm from 2000 to 2007. Since August 2007, Cheryl has been an Assistant Attorney General with the NYS Attorney General’s office. She currently tries cases on the State’s behalf in the New York State Court of Claims and New York State Supreme Court. Cheryl is a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Association. She also serves as a Trustee at her Church. Cheryl, who is originally from the island of Barbados, is married and has twin 8 year old daughters.
