It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Mr. Robert Cree will be resigning his position as Associate Vice President for Finance and Supply Management to become the Chief Financial Officer at Wells College in Aurora, New York. Robert’s last day at Ithaca College will be September 18.
Robert joined Ithaca College in 2001 as Assistant Director of Financial Services. He was later promoted to Associate Vice President for Business and Finance, where he has been instrumental in putting together a number of the College’s formal debt issuances. Robert was a key contributor to the College’s implementation of the Oracle e-business suite—Parnassus as we’ve come to know it—and most recently led the College’s strategic sourcing initiative along with our Director of Procurement, Mr. Dean Casterline.
“I am looking forward to joining the great staff and faculty at Wells College and the challenges ahead as their new Chief Financial Officer,” said Robert. “At the same time, this decision is bittersweet for me as I leave the IC ‘family’ for this opportunity for professional growth. I have enjoyed my time at Ithaca College, working with a wonderful group of faculty and staff colleagues.”
Robert was a big part of the smooth transition that I had when I joined the Ithaca College family in the summer of 2013. His work ethic, attention to detail, and acumen on all things relating to the College’s finances are well known. Becoming a Chief Financial Officer is a major career move, and based on his preparation and all that I know about him, he will do very well, and I wish him all the best in this new chapter in his career.
Please be on the lookout for information on how the campus community can bid Robert good luck on all his future endeavors.
