Published on August 4th, just weeks before Urza began his tenure-eligible teaching position at IC, the novel has already garnered high critical praise from Publishers Weekly, Booklist, Kirkus, and The New York Times. Set in 2004 in Muriga, a quiet town in Spain’s northern Basque Country, the book's opening action is the Atocha train bombings in Madrid. But the true story starts five years before, with the murder of a young local politician. This is the story narrated by three broken, beautiful characters--Joni, Maria, and Iker--who unravel their own dark secrets and each other's.
NPR describes the book this way: "All That Followed is a rarity in fiction: a thriller with an ending that's essentially revealed at the beginning. But this isn't the kind of novel that depends on a plot twist or a shock ending to work; the reader is drawn in not because we want to find out what happened, but why it happened.
