How to Make a Play
Did you ever wonder how theater companies are able to create plays as an ensemble? Did you ever have a tiny seed of an idea for a play but you weren't sure how to turn it into an actual piece of theater?
If so, then this class might be for you! Through physical exploration, improvisation, writing exercises, and research, the class will create a devised piece of theater together throughout the semester. As a final project, students will create their own short pieces in groups with other members of the class. All generated work will reflect the particular talents, interests, and skills of the individuals involved. Aspiring actors, dancers, writers, directors, designers, dramaturgs, and technicians are welcome.
