Ensemble X Presents ICU Sound Works

ICU Sound Works is a new endeavor that seeks to build on the collaboration between music students and faculty at IC and CU.  The emphasis will be on special ensemble projects that demonstrate the excellence of music-making on both hills. Dean Karl Paulnack and Xak Bjerken are featured as piano soloists with conductors Jeffery Meyer and Chris Younghoon Kim. The program includes Stravinsky’s Octet, Anders Hillborg’s Vaporized Tivoli, Decet by Can Bilir, and Osvaldo Golijov’s Nazareno.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31
Chamber Orchestra

Join graduate student Mario Torres in the first concert of the culmination of his conducting study at Ithaca College with Beethoven’s iconic Egmont Overture and Stravinsky’s Histoire du soldat, the story of the devil and a soldier, aptly chosen for this Halloween evening.
