Submitted on behalf of Patricia Spencer, Faculty Director of Service-Learning
Why should you work for the Office of Civic Engagement? As a student, working with the OCE has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my time here at IC, and here is why you should join us:
As the OCE is a relatively new office, you will have the experience of helping to shape an office from the ground up. You will get to learn about how to manage teams, develop new ways to manage information, and produce content.
This position is also an exciting opportunity for an IC student seeking to deepen their understanding of the community. You will have the chance to communicate with community partners to better their relationships with IC student groups and faculty delivering service-learning courses.
By engaging with this tight-knit group of professionals, you will have the ability to think and act critically within your work environment. The OCE leadership team encourages their student assistants to be self-motivated, to ask questions, and to treat every experience as a learning experience.
Sincerely,
Kaitlin Logsdon ’17 CM - OCE Administrative Intern
