Thomas H. Dennison, Ph.D.
Tuesday, February 23
7:00 p.m.
Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall
Ithaca College
Thomas H. Dennison, Ph.D., is Professor of Practice at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University where he is also Director of the Program in Health Services Management and Policy (HSMP), Director of the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion, a senior research associate at the Center for Policy Research and a faculty affiliate of the Syracuse University Gerontology Center.
Professor Dennison will discuss the history and evolution of long term care. The formal service system grew and changed in response to shifts in the structure of the community, demographic trends and societal values. But the most powerful force that has defined the formal system of care is the way care is paid for and by whom. In the broader context of the culture and social structure of the United States, ways the financing system has shaped and will continue to drive change in the structure of the formal system of long term care will be explored.
This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
