Interested in Writing, Photography, and Event Planning? Want to work with international artists? Register for this summer’s Image Text Ithaca Practicum!
Taught by Morgan Ashcom (Photography) and Katie Marks (Writing)
May 31-July 1, 2016
This classroom and experiential course focuses on the history and contemporary practice of image and text-based work while preparing students to participate in Ithaca College’s annual Image Text Ithaca (ITI) workshop. This event brings together internationally recognized artists, writers, publishers, and editors for a week of collaboration and presentations, culminating in the publication of a new book.
Students in the course will have the opportunity to develop their skills in writing and photography and will complete an independent or collaborative text-image project. They will also gain firsthand experience with event planning and have the opportunity to work with a diverse set of international artists.
The course will be a hybrid online and on-campus course. The class begins online from May 31st through June 12th. The on-campus portion of the practicum will be held in Ithaca from Monday, June 13th- Friday, June 24th. After the on-campus intensive, the course will move back to a virtual format until July 1st.
Register today! Cross-listed as WRTG 31200 and CNPH 31200. Prerequisites: CNPH 24200 or any 200-level WRTG course, or permission of instructor. 3 credits (Summer).
