Brooke Hansen, Associate Professor in the Anthropology Department, authored an article for Anthropology News (January 2016) on the fall 2014 faculty exchange with University of Hawai`i at Hilo.
The exchange took place between the anthropology departments at IC and UHH and involved Brooke Hansen and Jack Rossen traveling to Hawai`i to teach 3 classes while Lynn Morrison arrived in Ithaca to teach 3 courses. The exchange is an innovative way to allow faculty members to learn from other institutions, conduct research in a more extended time frame, offer new and innovative courses and live each other's lives for a semester. They swapped houses, cars offices and pets (each kept their own kids!) and made new friends and colleagues.
