As part of Educational Technology Day, Mr. Jeff Nugent, Director of Academic Technologies & Associate Director, Center for Learning, Teaching and Research at Colgate University will be leading a session on the promise of learning in a digital age on Thursday, March 24th at 1:10 PM in the Klingenstein Lounge.

It has almost become passé to suggest that we are living in an unprecedented era - one in which the vast storehouse of human knowledge is openly available and easily accessible - quite literally at our fingertips. The web has become a space where virtually anyone can publish text, images, audio, and video in a context that is networked and participatory. So where does education go from here? How has the promise of the web for learning been realized? What are the new models of learning, and what challenges do we face in implementing them? This talk will endeavor to illustrate an emerging digital ecosystem, and engage participants in considering questions and sharing ideas that can help us better understand a changing landscape.

The presentation will be followed by an informal discussion session with Mr. Nugent immediately after in the McDonald Lounge.

This is one of over 50 sessions that are part of our 26th annual Educational Technology Day at Ithaca College on Thursday, March 24th from 9 AM to 4 PM in the Campus Center. No registration is required for members of the Ithaca College community. Complete information is available on the Ed Tech Day Website: www.ithaca.edu/edtechday
