Want to learn how to use those cellphones, computers and tablets to stay in touch with family and friends? Play games? Get health information and more? Technology has certainly changed the way we do things but it’s never too late to learn how to be a “Cyber-Senior”.

On Thursday, March 24th at 11:00 AM in the Ithaca Falls Meeting Room, Teri Reinemann, MS, Gerontology Programs Manager and Lynn Gitlow, Ph,D., OTR/L, ATP, FAOTA, Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy will present an engaging session about technology and the senior population.

In this session, participants will see parts of a video “Cyber-Seniors” which describes how elders in a special training program learned how to use technologies such as FaceBook YouTube and other applications. The audience will be engaged in a discussion of what they want to learn about technology, how to best obtain this information and things to think about when looking to buy new technology. Finally participants will receive handouts with resources that they can use to learn about technology.

After the session, students will be available to escort participants into the exhibit hall to ask questions about technology options.

This is one of over 50 sessions that are part of our 26th annual Educational Technology Day at Ithaca College on Thursday, March 24th from 9 AM to 4 PM in the Campus Center. No registration is required for members of the Ithaca College community. Complete information is available on the Ed Tech Day Website: www.ithaca.edu/edtechday
