Dr. Janet Galván has been active as a guest conductor and clinician in January, February, and March.

In January, she traveled to Las Cruces, New Mexico to conduct the 20th anniversary concert of the New Mexico Elementary All-State Chorus.  She was the first conductor of this ensemble, and she was invited back to conduct the Middle School Honors Choir for the 10th anniversary.  Dr. Galván was the inspiration for the event in 1996, and the organization honored both her and Jerry Alt who was the President of the New Mexico Choral Directors at the time and organized and founded the event.  Over the 20 years, the event has grown from one to two choirs and has raised the standard of singing in the state.

In February, Dr. Galván was a clinician for "Sing In," an event at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.  She conducted a mass choir of high school and college singers. She also was a clinician, working with 10 high school choirs.

Dr. Galván traveled  to Fargo, North Dakota  in February to conduct the middle school treble honor choir.

During the week of February 10, Dr. Galván led the Minnesota All State Women's Choir in a concert at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.  This was the culmination of a process that began the first week in August.  The women met for a week of rehearsals and a concert at Concordia College.  This was the final concert of the prestigious All state choir.  She also presented a session at the MidWinter Conference of the Minnesota Music Educators called "Conducting with Purpose, Process, and Passion."

Galván traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee in March to present a session at the Southern Division Conference of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).  The session was called:  Global Perspectives:  Explore!  Experience!  Engage!  Embody!  Empower!
