Description: How do conflict and cooperation function in different arenas, in both the natural and human worlds? how are they perceived? is there overlap between these apparent opposites? what values are associated with them? Guest experts from a variety of disciplines -- music, sociology, economics, history, CSRE, art, biology, theatre, etc. -- will discuss how researchers and practitioners in each of these disciplines would address these common issues.
General course description:
ICIC 12000 Insight—Combining expertise. How can we combine insights from disciplinary experts to address complex issues? Guest experts from a variety of disciplines will discuss how researchers and practitioners in each of their disciplines would address a common issue. Techniques are introduced to combine their insights and lead to deeper understanding and more powerful solutions. Pass/Fail. 1 credit. No prerequisites. LA.
