There are multiple definitions of what it means to be a “first-generation” college student, but you are probably a first-generation student if your parents or guardians did not pursue education beyond high school, if they attended a vocational school, or if they attended college, but did not graduate. There are many Ithaca College faculty, staff, and students who take great pride in saying “I’m the first!”
Whether you are a “first-gen,” or just want to know more about the lived experiences of first-generation students, we invite all faculty, staff, and students to join us for a panel discussion on Thursday, March 31st from 12:00-1:00 pm in Taughannock Falls room of Campus Center. Those of us who are or have been on this educational and personal journey can learn from each other! We’ll share light refreshments, stories and strategies for success. Because space is limited, please RSVP as soon as possible by emailing advisingcenter@ithaca.edu.
