Thinking about North Carolina's new law about transgender people and restrooms? Want to lead a learning activity on this topic in your classroom? Need some talking points, or an easy teaching tool to help people around you think clearly and factually about trans folks and bathroom access? Announcing a free resource for those seeking materials to lead classroom discussions and other learning opportunities related to North Carolina's new law impacting transgender people and restrooms, and similar efforts now gaining momentum in other states.

My co-author and I have made our lesson plan (from our new book The Teaching Transgender Toolkit) on the importance of bathroom access and how to address questions about anti-transgender bathroom bills free to all as an open access download. It's a teaching tool to help learners think clearly and factually about transgender folks and restroom access, designed to assist you in leading a learning activity on this topic in your classroom, with colleagues in your department or office, with a student organization, or with other groups of which you may be a part in the community. This lesson is designed for college students and other adult audiences, and helps clarify myths and facts while engaging in an empathy building exercise. The talking points included in the lesson are also useful for those seeking to act in allyship in everyday conversations. Download your copy, and read more about this law and our decision to provide open access to this section of our book.
