Announcing the Third Annual Michael Clark Essay Contest

The Department of English is very pleased to announce the third annual Michael Clark Essay Contest, which will recognize one outstanding undergraduate essay in Renaissance literature.  The prize given to the author will be $200.  The deadline for submissions will be Monday, April 25, and the winner will be announced at the Sigma Tau Delta end-of-the-year reception.

Guidelines for Submission

--Participants must be current IC undergraduates

--Essays may address any aspect of Renaissance literature

--Essays must have been written within the past three semesters (spring and fall 2015; spring 2016)

--One essay per participant

--No minimum or maximum page count; we ask only for thoughtful analytical essays

--Submission packet must contain a short cover letter and two paper copies of the essay you plan to have considered for the prize

Completed submission packets should be delivered to 309 Muller Center no later than Monday, April 25.

Of course, many of you knew Michael as a remarkable student and friend. Renaissance literature was a special passion of his, and the Department of English is proud to sponsor this essay contest in his memory.
