After a national search, Rob Gearhart has been appointed Associate Dean in the Park School.  He’s  been serving as interim Associate Dean for the past six months with his portfolio of responsibilities centered on advancing and integrating curricular and co-curricular learning, coordination of course schedules and faculty staffing plans, and support for student and faculty activities including faculty mentoring, risk management, and endowed scholarships and grants.

Gearhart previously served as Assistant Provost, overseeing IC’s Office of Extended Studies as well as the college's strategies regarding online learning; and prior to that he was Associate Dean and then Acting Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies.  He has a long career in educational technology and strategic planning, having served on the leadership team of eCornell, as a senior instructional designer in the Office of Distance Learning at Cornell,  a consultant with Concept Systems (a strategic planning technology firm), and the director of the Educational Technology Center at Burlington County College in New Jersey.

He holds both a B.S. and M.S. from the Park School and taught for 12 years in our television-radio and communication management and design programs. Gearhart is active in the Ithaca community, serving on Common Council and as a board member of the State Theatre.

The Park School is very pleased to have Rob  “back home”.
