We invite you to a report back from the School of Americas Watch pre-delegation at the border in Nogales, AZ & Mexico, by our friend Beth Harris. Beth will be returning on May 1st, and will be presenting at Ithaca College on Friday May 6, 4:00-5:30pm in Job Hall 160 (see directions below).
The format of the event will be a presentation on what Beth learned at the border, but also an interactive discussion where we engage together on ideas for a multi-media website project involving community and IC members.
At the border, Beth will have met with members from many different organizations who work on different, but related issues that bring attention to the roots of migration, and the consequences of militarization policies at the border. Beth will tell us what she learned, and we hope to entice you to join the SOAW border convergence on Oct 7-10, 2016 in Nogales.
Hope to see you on May 6th. We will have snacks and refreshments.
To find Job Hall 160, best is to park in visitor lot (main entrance to ic, take the first right, and you will see it). Then walk up from the roundabout past the Peggy R. Williams administration building, walk past the stairs to the fountains you will see to your right, then enter the first set of doors you will see to your right and take a right, walk down ramp and you will see Job Hall 160.
Event is sponsored by the Politics Dept at IC.
