People from all walks of life are currently seeking to learn more about the natural world. Learn basic skills and sensory awareness that can apply to all aspects of your life. Unplug from technology, take lots of field trips and learn to see the world in a whole new way. Being out in nature increases fitness levels, lowers stress, improves critical thinking and is just plain fun!
Jason Hamilton, natural history expert in the Environmental Studies & Sciences Department and initiator of IC’s immensely popular Environmental Sentinels course, will be teaching a Maymester course – ENVS 142 – in the art and science of tracking.
Become more aware of what’s happening all around you in the natural landscape by studying local natural history, identifying clear-print tracks, analyzing just what the almost-invisible animals that surround us in the woods and fields of upstate New York are doing. Alter your relationship with the natural world forever. Do all of this in 10 days and earn 3 credits! Contact Jason at jhamilton@ithaca.edu for more information.
