Three IC chemistry graduates: Jason Diaz ('09), Kellee Rich ('08), Semeret Munie ('08) and Associate Professor of Chemistry Anna Larsen coauthored a paper, which has recently been accepted for publication in Polyhedron Special Issue on Undergraduate Research.
Polyhedron is a major international journal for research in inorganic chemistry published by Elsevier B.V.
The authors are greatly indebted to the current IC students, Megan Wirth (Biochemistry, ‘16) and Ben Morse (Chemistry’ 17), for their invaluable help with the final stages of the manuscript preparation and submission for publication.
Currently, Kellee Rich (IC’ 08, OD - U of Indiana ‘12) is employed at Spector Eye Care, Stamford, CT; Jason Diaz (IC’09, PhD in virology, U Penn ‘15) is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA; and Semeret Munie (IC ’08, MD ’13 University of Vermont) is a surgical resident at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.
The article addresses thermodynamics and kinetics aspects of the alcohol binding and oxidation by organometallic ruthenium complexes.
