The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management bids farewell to Lieutenant Bill Kerry...
The news is bittersweet. On June 7, 2016 Lieutenant Bill Kerry will complete his last day of work having served our campus community and his Public Safety team exceptionally, and with honor and integrity, for more than 14 years. Bill will be joining the Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) Campus Police as Associate Director/Deputy Chief of Police. I know the campus community joins me and our entire Public Safety team in our excitement and well wishes for Bill while at the same time acknowledging that our workplace will never be the same.
Those of you who have had the pleasure to partner closely with Bill know him as high performer and his positive contributions to the campus community (and beyond) are notable and countless. Bill is a highly valued and respected member of the Public Safety team and we will miss working alongside him.
Bill is always about the team. An extraordinary leader and genuine team player, Bill is credited for vast improvements in the areas of special event management, emergency preparedness and response, crime prevention, and community oriented policing (positive engagement and partnership building for problem solving). Bill is a champion for process improvement having contributed to numerous operational and administrative enhancements both within our department and across the campus, always with a mind for quality, affordability and efficiency. Far and wide are the accomplishments that Bill has achieved and the challenges he has overcome in close collaboration with the students, faculty and staff that we serve. Bill’s energy, enthusiasm and spirit is unrivaled and he has been a solid partner to many across the campus.
Please join me in wishing Bill all the best as he pursues what’s next and new in his career aspirations. Bill, on behalf of your campus community and your Public Safety team, know that we hold you in the highest regard and it is our sincere hope that you leave us knowing how valued and respected you truly are. Thank you for years of dedicated service to your campus community - you will be missed.
Congratulations and best wishes to our friend, partner, team-oriented leader and all-star!
