To celebrate 4th of July, Cinemapolis will host an exclusive pre-release screening of the definitive documentary on fireworks, Passfire: A Film About Fireworks Culture Across the World.

The film was produced by Ithaca-based filmmakers Jesse and Jeremy Veverka, and Assistant Produced by IC Senior Hannah Basciano. IC students James Manton and Patrick McMahon also helped edit the film, while local band The New York Rock wrote and performed the title track, and renowned Ithaca composer and musician Robby Aceto scored and recorded its original music.

Passfire is a documentary about the world's most amazing fireworks, the people who make them, and the cultures behind them. It travels to twenty-three countries on six continents to feel the explosions of the world’s greatest fireworks and celebrations.

The screening will be at Cinemapolis on July 12, 2016 from 7-9:30pm including a Q&A with the filmmakers, local pyrotechnicians, and musicians, followed by an after party at The Ale House.

Pre-order tickets and watch the Passfire Trailer on the Cinemapolis Website.
